Zero-frequency supercurrent susceptibility signatures of trivial and topological zero-energy states in nanowire junctions

چکیده

Abstract We propose a method to distinguish between trivial and topological, Majorana, zero-energy states (ZESs) in both short long superconductor-normal-superconductor junctions based on Rashba nanowires using phase-biased equilibrium transport measurements. In particular, we show how the sawtooth profile of supercurrent, due Majorana oscillation suppression topological phase for sufficiently superconductor regions, leads strong signal its zero-frequency susceptibility difference ϕ = π . This is notably insensitive chemical potential normal region, while ZESs only causes signals that highly varying with potential, thus turning gating region into simple experimental control knob. Furthermore, obtain that, by tuning junction transparency, critical currents undergo reduction number oscillations as function magnetic field phase, an effect find be intimately linked non-locality. Finally, our results also hold at finite temperatures, highlighting their measurability under realistic conditions.

Topological Susceptibility and Zero Mode Size in Lattice QCD

In this proceedings, we summarize our work on the determination of the topological susceptibility and zero mode size distribution of SU(2) and SU(3) gauge fields using the overlap formalism. Most of this work has appeared in print [1]. We will focus here on new results which are extensions of the published work, namely the topological susceptibility for SU(2) pure gauge theory, the zero mode si...

On a trivial zero problem

One trivial zero phenomenon for p-adic analytic function is considered. We then prove that the first derivative of this function is essentially the Kummer class associated with p. 1. Introduction. In this paper we always fix an odd prime p > 2. For n ≥ 1, fix a p n th primitive root of unity ζ p n such that ζ

Magnetically-driven colossal supercurrent enhancement in InAs nanowire Josephson junctions

The Josephson effect is a fundamental quantum phenomenon where a dissipationless supercurrent is introduced in a weak link between two superconducting electrodes by Andreev reflections. The physical details and topology of the junction drastically modify the properties of the supercurrent and a strong enhancement of the critical supercurrent is expected to occur when the topology of the junctio...

AdS/CFT Duals of Topological Black Holes and the Entropy of Zero–Energy States

The horizon of a static black hole in Anti-deSitter space can be spherical, planar, or hyperbolic. The microscopic dynamics of the first two classes of black holes have been extensively discussed recently within the context of the AdS/CFT correspondence. We argue that hyperbolic black holes introduce new and fruitful features in this respect, allowing for more detailed comparisons between the w...
